Easily Accepted
Everyday each of us enters a market place of ideas when we turn on our phones, computers or tablets, and boot up our favorite search engine. Often it's just to seek entertainment or a status update from friends and family, but sometimes we are questioning the honesty of those around us. Because when they told us about something we scoffed at them saying that couldn't be true or that's not how I see it. We type our question into a search engine and hit send and milliseconds later, bam an answer. Now we have to choose weather or not to believe the answer on our screen. We each balance the validity of the sight and the expertise it represents, but then something else happens. We choose if we like the answer or not. If we don't we continue looking through the search engine results until we find satisfaction that we knew better or until we submit to the fact that the first answer was right. Why is that? Why do we refuse to accept things as they are when we are told? Is it because we have an innate need to be right which overrides our mind to prevent us from accepting things right in front of us? Perhaps we should be more open to ideas, even if they cause us to change.
